JIM MCDONOUGH AWARD

The Jim McDonough Award was established through his generosity and long-time support for professional excellence in wildlife management. Jim is noted for his many years of research on cottontail rabbits and white-tailed deer in Massachusetts. He has been a leader in the Northeast Section and New England Chapter for many years.

The award is presented to a TWS member who is also a Certified Wildlife Biologist and a member of the section and chapter where the the individual resides. The recipient is recognized for making a significant contribution to the wildlife profession by being an active member/participant of The Wildlife Society, especially at local levels and through program implementation and development of new techniques or approaches in an area or in a state or province. Additionally, the recipient is the kind of person recognized by their fellow workers as a solid contributor and a “true professional,” but who has gone without major awards, citations, or prominent recognitions.

The recipient receives a plaque and a monetary award at The Wildlife Society Annual Conference.
